School Day

At Whinmoor St. Paul’s, we open our doors to children from 8.40am each morning.  The doors close at 08:50am and lessons begin.  School closes at 3.15pm each day and is followed by a wealth of after school activities. Year 6 children are invited to come into school from 8.30am and support our school community by doing small, yet essential jobs.  Compulsory school time is 32.5 hours.

Severe Weather Procedures

In the event of a heavy snow fall overnight we will do one of three things:

  1. Open as normal as we are confident the site will be safe and staff are able to get in safely and on time.
  2. Delay the start of the school day to allow the paths and carpark to be gritted and to allow staff additional time to arrive at work safely.
  3. Shut the school for the day and set remote learning for the children via ClassDojo or Google Classroom.

In the event of a delayed start ALL children should enter school through the normal entrances unless we make alternative routes available, such as direct access to the classrooms.

We always aim to open school but only if it is safe to do so. We will notify you by:

Please do not ring school if it is snowing. The above methods will be our primary methods of communicating any changes to the usual day-to-day arrival or departure procedures.
